At CHP we aim to put our buildings at the heart of the communities we serve. Many of our buildings are located in areas of high healthcare and wellbeing needs, delivering much needed services locally.
We are continuously looking at ways in which we can improve services at our sites and to create a central hub for information and support for patients and building users.
In November 2021, we launched our Buildings at the Heart of the Community initiative, a scheme which encourages local community groups and charities to make the most of our CHP buildings, by providing space to host community and health awareness events.
In parallel to our Buildings at the Heart work, CHP recognised the benefits of being able to measure and record the social value generated through our activities. Quantification of social value has many benefits, these include: the ability to understand those activities which provide the greatest social return, the ability to maximise the benefit of our assets and the ability to shout about the great work we do in our communities.
Our social value principles and measurement framework were established in November 2021 in CHP’s first Social Value Policy.

Our CSR Strategy provides a framework to support our people and our CSR efforts nationally, regionally and locally. It allows them to build on existing activities, initiatives and relationships while encouraging new ideas to be developed that enable our people and their communities to continue to thrive.

Social value is at the heart of Community Health Partnerships. As part of the NHS family we provide high quality health and social care facilities that enable excellent patient care. We work diligently to have a positive impact on our employees, the environment, and communities across our estates. We recognise that we can deliver more for our clients, the communities that we work in and society as a whole by taking steps to maximise the social value we generate as a business.

Guides describe the journey from first arrival at one of our buildings, providing step by step information about the facilities available within the centre like the location of the passenger lifts, reception areas and accessible toilets.

CHP encourages local community groups and charities to make the most of our buildings by using space in our centres to host health and wellbeing related events - usually at no cost.
