Additional treatment rooms boost service capacity at Park House Health and Social Care Centre

An internal reconfiguration to create additional capacity for clinical services at Park House Health and Social Care Centre in Carlton, Nottingham, was recently completed.

A total investment of £834k, with £810k funded by Community Health Partnerships (CHP), supported by key partners NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Greater Nottingham LIFTCo, has led to the creation of three new consultation rooms, a new treatment room and additional storage space.

The new reconfiguration will boost productivity within the building and allow for more patient appointments across Nottingham. Park House Health and Social Care Centre hosts a broad mix of services, including two outpatient suites, podiatry, dental care, physiotherapy, children and young people’s services, and GP provision.

The addition of new clinical rooms creates vital extra capacity, improving efficiency for both providers and patients. This reconfiguration aligns with the Government’s ambition to deliver more care within local communities and neighbourhoods, helping to relieve pressure on acute hospitals.

The variation at Park House is another brilliant example of what can be achieved throughout our region through partnership working. The new treatment rooms will give existing service providers additional space to deliver valuable services within the community which will further support the Government’s mission to deliver healthcare closer to home for those who need it most.

As the commissioner responsible for the running costs of Park House, the ICB is committed to ensuring that local NHS estate is used to its full potential. The new bookable treatment rooms will enable more services to be delivered closer to home, supporting our patients and the wider health system

Greater Nottingham LIFT Company (GNL) has been working collaboratively with CHP since July 2024 to progress the development of the variation at Park House.

Project management resource to coordinate and oversee an end-to-end delivery has been provided by EMS Community Ventures (ECV), GNL’s Management Services Provider, through ECV’s supply chain member, Sewell Advisory.

NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB has played an active role in the scheme and continues to support the building’s running costs as part of its ongoing estate commitments.

CHP buildings are designed to be hubs within the neighbourhood they represent, and this space will add a modern, private and accessible space for those who use Park House Health and Social Care Centre.
