NHS England has unveiled the “Care for the future: delivering the world’s first net zero health service” photography exhibition at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum in Coventry. The photography exhibition features NHS staff who have pioneered greener healthcare initiatives for the benefit of their patients and the communities they serve. A GP at Foleshill Health Centre in Coventry, features in this exhibition representing both primary care, NHS Midlands region and sustainable NHS healthcare facilities.
11 May is World FM Day with the theme ‘leading a sustainable future’. Sustainable facilities are one of CHP’s five strategic aims in our Business Plan for 2022/23 and are also a social responsibility pillar. Foleshill Health Centre, the UK’s first Passivhaus healthcare building, won ‘Best Carbon Reduction Initiative’ at the Building Better Healthcare Awards. NHS England has unveiled a new photography exhibition, “Care for the future: delivering the world’s first net zero health service,” at COP26 in Glasgow. Dr Mesbahuddin Syeed, a GP at Foleshill Health Centre, in Coventry features in this exhibition because he is based at the first Passivhaus health care building in the UK.
During COP26 CHP will be focusing on some of the things we are already doing to improve our green credentials and highlighting some key facts about the NHS and sustainability. One year on from the NHS becoming the world’s first health service to commit to reaching net zero carbon.
