Celebrating Volunteers’ Week: Making a Difference Across CHP

Volunteers’ Week provides an excellent opportunity to reflect on the positive impact of volunteering across Community Health Partnerships (CHP).

At CHP, the volunteering programme is a key part of their commitment to supporting the communities we serve. It delivers mutual benefit, strengthening local communities while also offering valuable opportunities for colleagues to develop new skills, build relationships and gain enriching experiences outside of their day-to-day roles.

This year also marks the third anniversary of CHP’s Volunteering Policy (PDF). They are proud of the programme’s success. Since its introduction, more than 50% of the workforce have collectively contributed nearly 2,000 hours of volunteering time, a significant and meaningful achievement.

They have participated in a wide range of activities that directly support local communities. These have included initiatives such as supporting children and families during the festive period, working alongside local charities, and engaging in community-focused events. Each contribution, regardless of scale, has helped make a difference.

CHP Colleague Feedback

Feedback from colleagues continues to highlight the value and impact of volunteering:

Volunteering provides a valuable team-building experience outside the office. It was incredibly fulfilling to contribute to an initiative that had such a positive impact on children and families.

Charity events in our buildings embody the spirit of CHP’s Buildings at the Heart of the Community initiative. It is particularly rewarding to showcase what our buildings can offer and to engage directly with local residents.

CHP’s Employee Volunteering Policy directly supports their strategic aim of placing Buildings at the Heart of the Community and contributes to their wider Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments. Participation from colleagues plays a vital role in delivering these objectives and strengthening our impact.

Get Involved This Volunteers’ Week

As we recognise Volunteers’ Week, CHP encourage anyone to consider how they might use their volunteering days to support their local communities. Taking part not only benefits others but also offers a rewarding and meaningful experience for those involved.
