Earlier this week, Community Health Partnerships (CHP) Board members visited three NHS LIFT buildings in Bristol to see how the estate supports local NHS services and helps deliver care closer to home.
The Board toured South Bristol Community Hospital, Fishponds Primary Care Centre and Hampton House Health Centre. The three sites demonstrated the breadth and flexibility of the NHS LIFT estate. Board members met local stakeholders and heard how services operate in each setting, as well as the opportunities involved in managing a complex healthcare estate.
Simon Waters, Regional Director for South and East, also outlined the strategic direction of the portfolio and the role of NHS LIFT buildings in supporting neighbourhood health. The discussion explored how CHP works with local partners to make the best use of the existing estate, benefitting patients, clinicians and local health systems.
Reflecting on the visit, Board members commented positively on the opportunity to see the buildings in operation and to better understand the differing approaches required across the LIFT estate.
The visit showcased CHP’s role in maintaining safe, flexible and well-used buildings that support evolving NHS services and better access to care for local communities.
