In the run up to the festive period colleagues at CHP have been out in force supporting local community groups and organisations with their volunteering efforts.
Teams up and down the country have volunteered at toy appeals for children, Christmas fairs, and in their own centres running health and wellbeing events, with a Christmas theme.
Colleagues across the country support the Mission Christmas Campaign – Birmingham, Liverpool and Lancashire
This Christmas season, a team of volunteers from CHP, gbpartnerships, and Renova joined forces with Hits Radio Liverpool (formerly Radio City) and Cash for Kids to make a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged children across Liverpool and North Wales.
According to Jenny, the Cash for Kids representative, this was one of the biggest packing days they had ever seen – a truly remarkable achievement.
CHP Operations and Relationship Manager Jaime Towers recently dedicated a day to supporting the Cash For Kids Mission Christmas campaign at their warehouse in Preston. This annual initiative aims to bring joy to underprivileged children during the festive season.
Jaime, along with generous donations of toys from CHP tenants across her sites, contributed to the warehouse efforts. The Mission Christmas campaign relies solely on public support to fulfil requests from families in need, ensuring thousands of children receive a gift from Santa on Christmas morning. Last year they made sure that over 9k disadvantaged kids across the Lancashire area woke up to a gift – perhaps the only one they will have received that year.
The Midlands Mission Christmas campaign, backed by Gem Radio, made a significant impact last year, ensuring over 17,000 children received gifts on Christmas morning.
This year, two Operations and Relationship Managers at CHP joined forces with colleagues from gbpartnerships to sort and pack hundreds of gifts at the Fort Shopping Park in Birmingham, ensuring they were ready for distribution to children in need.
I really wanted to help these children who just want to have a little love shown to them. Having the surprise of a few things at Christmas would make their day. It was hard work but I found it very satisfying especially when you see the forms asking for presents. I will definitely do this again next year

It was a privilege to be part of the Mission Christmas campaign," said Jaime Towers. "Seeing the incredible work of the volunteers and the sheer volume of toys collected was truly inspiring. I'm grateful to my tenants for their generous donations towards this campaign.

Christmas is a time for giving and being grateful for what you have. I am extremely thankful for all I have and every child should feel the wonder and excitement of Christmas. Mission Christmas is a great charity and ensures that under privileged children receive a Christmas gift. This experience made me feel quite emotional at times, but I also felt a great deal of satisfaction knowing that I contributed to making a child's Christmas that little bit better.

CHP's Commitment to Community: Empowering Employees to Volunteer
In the first nine months of this financial year, a remarkable 63 employees have dedicated their time to giving back to their communities through our CHP Volunteering Programme. This represents a fantastic 27% of our workforce actively participating since April 2024, contributing an impressive 522 hours of volunteer service.
As we move into the last quarter of the financial year, we encourage even more of you to seize the opportunity to volunteer and make a positive difference in your community. Whether you’re drawn to a specific cause or inspired by a colleague’s experience, every hour you volunteer contributes to our collective social impact and helps those in need.
Every CHP employee is entitled to 2 days of volunteering leave per year. To request volunteering time, simply log into the People First system and select “Volunteering” from the drop-down menu. It’s as easy as booking a dentist appointment!
Employee Volunteering Policy is in line with CHP’s 5-year strategy to put ‘Buildings at the heart of the Community’ and feeds directly into CHPs Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda.
We believe that our volunteering programme not only benefits the communities we serve but also helps our employees develop personally and professionally.
The team at CHP believe that our volunteering programme launched in 2023, not only benefits the communities we serve, but also helps our employees develop personally and professionally.
