Following Community Health Partnerships (CHP) successful pilot of the NHS Open Space room booking platform in 2024, a wider rollout has begun across a further four ICB regions; Kent and Medway ICB, Norfolk and Waveney ICB, Mid and South Essex ICB, and North Central London ICB (West and North London ICB from 1 April 2026). More than 30 CHP buildings will join NHS Open Space, as part of this phase of the rollout. Bookable rooms include a range of clinical, treatment, counselling, and meeting rooms.

19 CHP buildings across the North East London ICS will be added to NHS Open Space in November 2026. 

This is an exciting opportunity for CHP, as well as participating Integrated Care Boards (ICB), NHS Trusts, room bookers, and tenants to utilise and see the benefits of this shared platform used elsewhere across the NHS Estate.  NHS Open Space provides a more flexible approach to managing space, so that health, wellbeing, and community services and organisations can book the space they need when they need it.

For CHP building users, NHS Open Space provides a centralised platform for booking rooms, giving instant access to building details, room photos, floor plans, availability, accessibility features, and opening hours, all without the need for site visits or manual processes.  It is being rolled out more widely over the next two years, in place of our existing room booking platform, Tenant Access Portal (TAP), across the CHP bookable estate portfolio where there is ICB appetite to collaborate.

The platform is already live in 20 CHP properties across the South-East London and Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent ICB regions with 156 rooms available, delivering improved utilisation, and user experience across a range of clinical, treatment, counselling, and meeting rooms.
