I invite you to read our Integrated Business Plan 2026-27 (PDF) which sets out our priorities, KPIs and deliverables for this year.
Our 2026/27 IBP has been shaped by national priorities, reflecting the Government’s commitment to building an NHS fit for the future. Central to this is the shift towards a Neighbourhood Health Service, which underpins our strategic approach.
The 10 Year Health Plan launched last year, set out the direction of travel for the NHS over the next 10 years. It majored on three key shifts to support the wider ambition, including: from hospital to community, analogue to digital and from sickness to prevention. The plan also emphasises the importance of repurposing existing estate, starting with areas of the highest health need and deprivation, enabling more care into local communities.
In November 2025 the NHS Rebuild Programme was launched with a commitment to deliver 250 Neighbourhood Health Centres by 2035 through a combination of repurposed estate and new builds. CHP has been at the forefront of this national programme, with 16 CHP LIFT buildings confirmed in the first wave. These sites will undergo targeted adaptations and modifications to meet local NHS system and population needs. The 16 schemes represent the majority of the 27 projects announced in this initial phase of the programme, reinforcing the strength and readiness of the LIFT estate in delivering national neighbourhood ambitions.
For 2026/27 we will continue to focus on providing value from the LIFT portfolio and support NHS productivity through the capital invested in our healthcare estate. This will also be underpinned by the work delivered through the Securing the Future Programme, prioritising and optimising the use of core LIFT assets to safeguard their long-term sustainability.
Our customers will remain at the heart of what we do, supporting them and our local system partners to deliver wider infrastructure ambitions. We will prioritise the formation of the PACE Plans, enabling ICBs to make better use of the LIFT estate. Building on the success of last year’s tenant satisfaction survey, we remain committed to continually improving the experience for our customers and ensuring they receive the highest standard of service within our buildings.
As head tenant we will continue to focus on getting the basics right, ensuring roles, responsibilities and obligations are understood and delivered to ensure the provision of sustainable facilities that offer value for money.
