CHP are excited to announce the launch of their first-ever volunteering programme. The strategy aligns with their commitment to invest in their people and make CHP a place where our employees want to work and feel engaged.
The newly created volunteering programme aims to contribute to CHP’s annual social value measure and provide opportunities for our employees to engage in altruistic activities that can increase their sense of social connectedness and confidence. It also aims to provide opportunities for participants to develop a sense of purpose and enhance their skills.
All CHP employees, irrespective of their status or position within the company, are entitled to up to two days of paid volunteering leave per year. CHP have created a Volunteering Policy which sets out the finer details of the programme.
Employees will be able to decide if and how they want to participate. To source volunteering opportunities, employees will be encouraged to view the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action website or draw on their previous experience.
Activities can be individual or team-based, depending on the opportunity. By self-sourcing volunteering opportunities, the activities will remain local to the sites and communities who will benefit.
The launch date has been selected to coincide with Volunteers’ Week which runs from 1st to 7th June 2023. Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering in their communities.
CHP believe that our volunteering programme will not only benefit the communities we serve but also help our employees develop personally and professionally. CHP look forward to seeing the positive impact of this programme on our employees and the communities we serve.
