Health investor Renova and Community Health Partnerships welcomed David Baines, MP for St Helens North, to Garswood Primary Care Centre to discuss the important role it plays in supporting community health.
Garswood is one of 17 health centres delivered by Renova under the NHS LIFT programme across the NW, which brings together investors with Community Health Partnerships (a key part of the NHS family) to deliver vital community health facilities. Community Health Partnerships is the head tenant at Garswood Primary Care Centre, one of 308 modern, adaptable LIFT health facilities across England.
Since it was built in 2007, Garswood Primary Care Centre has grown to become an important part of the local community, with the modern two-storey building offering local residents a GP surgery, pharmacy, Community Nursing (through Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust), neurology and neurosurgery services (through The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust), and treatment rooms all under one roof.
It was a pleasure to visit Garswood Primary Care Resource Centre and to hear about the range of treatments and services available there. All communities need and deserve accessible high-quality healthcare, which is why venues like this at the heart of a local area are so important.
David Baines, MP for St Helens North
It was great to meet David Baines MP and Amy at Garswood Primary Care Centre and to also hear from the community nursing staff based within the NHS LIFT estate serving their local community healthcare needs. It also reaffirmed the importance of the local estate infrastructure being a core requirement for health and care delivery in the future. I am committed to working with Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care System to ensure we fully optimise the centre over the coming years.
Jeanette Leach, Regional Director North West, Community Health Partnerships
It was great to welcome David Baines MP to Garswood Primary Care Centre and to discuss the important role it plays in supporting community health. As Renova celebrates 20 years of partnering with the NHS, buildings like Garswood underline the strength of investing in neighbourhood health centres and supporting the NHS in moving towards more community-based care.
Amy Lawrence, Renova General Manager
The visit comes as Renova celebrates 20 years of working in partnership with the NHS to deliver quality neighbourhood health buildings throughout the North West. Renova is part of Fulcrum Infrastructure (www.fulcrumgroup.co.uk).
