At CHP we strive to create an inclusive healthcare estate and understand that everyone’s needs are different, we recognise that accessibility is a not a nice to have, it’s an essential.
Which is why having detailed, accurate accessibility information is so important.
CHP have partnered with AccessAble, the UK’s leading provider of detailed disabled-access information, to create Accessibility Guides for all our 308 buildings, these guides enable our customers to plan ahead of their visit and make the most of their appointment.
The guides help building users navigate their way around our sites. Information that may seem simple to many, such as knowing whether there is step free access or the distance from the car park to the door, provide a great deal of reassurance to an individual who may require additional help with access or feel nervous ahead of their visit.
Each of our 308 health care and community buildings has a Detailed Access Guide available to view and access, the guides provide information from first arrival on site, accessible parking facilities, to moving around the building.
The CHP team and AccessAble ambassadors worked to bring their experiences to life; the project team worked with video production company Surfr, to create a series of stop-motion animations capturing these important messages.
CHP’s work on the AccessAble project has been recognised with project lead Simon Waters, receiving the Judges Choice Award at the Government Property Awards 2022.
