Social Value

At CHP we aim to put our buildings at the heart of the communities we serve. Many of our buildings are located in areas of high healthcare and wellbeing needs, delivering much needed services locally.

We are continuously looking at ways in which we can improve services at our sites and to create a central hub for information and support for patients and building users.

To ensure our buildings accommodate for every individual’s needs, we worked in partnership with AccessAble, the UK’s leading provider of detailed disabled-access information, and created Detailed Access Guides, which are available for each CHP site.

The individual Guides provide additional information including up to date photos of each site, to enable those who require additional support, plan and prepare ahead of each visit.

In November 2021, we launched our Buildings at the Heart of the Community initiative, a scheme which encourages local community groups and charities to make the most of our CHP buildings, by providing space to host community and health awareness events.

In parallel to our Buildings at the Heart work, CHP recognised the benefits of being able to measure and record the social value generated through our activities. Quantification of social value has many benefits, these include: the ability to understand those activities which provide the greatest social return, the ability to maximise the benefit of our assets and the ability to shout about the great work we do in our communities.

Our social value principles and measurement framework were established in November 2021 in CHP’s first Social Value Policy.

In 2022 CHP generated:

Social value is at the heart of Community Health Partnerships. As part of the NHS family we provide high quality health and social care facilities that enable excellent patient care. We work diligently to have a positive impact on our employees, the environment, and communities across our estates. We recognise that we can deliver more for our clients, the communities that we work in and society as a whole by taking steps to maximise the social value we generate as a business.
