Work has been completed at Stourbridge Health and Social Care Centre to provide additional clinical facilities and increase patient capacity.

The Three Villages GP Practice which is one of the building’s tenants, has a large patient list of around 15,000 people and needed extra clinical capacity to deal with people’s health needs. They also wanted to consolidate a satellite practice which was previously in inadequate premises into the same building.

The variation was completed in just over 12 months, from inception to completion and the £625,000 cost was met by ETTF (NHSE/I Estates and Technology Transformation Fund) funding.

The project was coordinated by CHP and Dudley Infracare LIFT through Dudley Infracare Developments.

As well as additional clinical space, the changes improved staff areas in the building.

“This project was carried out on time and within budget despite the constraints of Covid-19,” said CHP Programme Manager Julian Humphreys. “The ratio of clinical to non-clinical space has been improved, and a better environment provided for patients and staff.”

Dr Ruth Tapparo, a GP at Three Villages Medical Practice said: “We have worked closely with CHP to deliver this project on time amidst the NHS facing challenges never seen before. Working with us to understand our requirements, CHP have helped us to create additional clinical capacity to enhance the range of services provided by Three Villages Practice and significantly improve the patient experience, as well as create better environments for healthcare professionals to deliver care.”
