Foleshill Health Centre is the UK’s greenest health centre – a model for the future for the NHS
The award-winning £3.3m primary health care centre was completed in June 2021. The GP team from Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance started seeing patients in mid-August 2021. Practical completion took place during the Covid-19 pandemic – 10 months from the start of the build to a finished facility.
- First UK Passivhaus healthcare building in the UK – Currently awaiting certification
- An example for future sustainable NHS estate design
- Achieved energy performance rating (EPC) A and built to achieve BREEAM Excellent
- A partnership between CHP and Coventry and Warwickshire CCG.
CHP chose the Passivhaus approach for its overall sustainability ethos with low running costs and health benefits. Passivhaus buildings are largely heated by sunlight, people and appliances with a very small heating system for very cold weather and are highly insulated.
