During the pandemic, St John volunteers gave thousands of hours of their time supporting the NHS in caring for patients on board ambulances, in hospitals and as part of vital community projects such as last year’s seasonal flu vaccinations.
On 24th June 2022, there was a national celebration, St John’s Day, to say thank you to their volunteers and to also celebrate 100 years of the Cadet programme for 11 to 18 year olds. The organisation asked for buildings across England to “Light up Green” to show their support.
CHP buildings at City of Coventry Health Centre, Kensington Neighbourhood Health Centre and Garston Family Health Centre were lit up to show their support for the day. With CHP buildings being within the heart of the community, much like St John’s Ambulance volunteers, it is pertinent that the organisation supports such a worthy cause alongside partners such as Integral and gbpartnerships.
Andy Muir, Regional Director the North West at Community Health Partnerships commented, “It is always important to support the brilliant work of organisations such as St John’s Ambulance. The dedication of their volunteers throughout the pandemic was second to none and lighting up our buildings is the least we can do to say thank you to them.”
Mark Grinnoneau, Regional Director for the Midlands at Community Health Partnerships said, “Lighting up a building such as City of Coventry is a simple and effective way to show our support for a brilliant day. We are always proud to support charities such as St John’s Ambulance.”
