CHP supports community event at Parkview Centre for Health and Wellbeing

Group shot of community event at Parkview Centre for Health and Wellbeing Community Health Partnerships (CHP) worked in collaboration with local LIFTCo partner, West London Health Partnership and Fulcrum, investors in Parkview Centre, to support the recent W12 Festival, a community event in September 2022 held in Wormholt Park, West London.

The W12 Festival, organised by W12Together, a community-led charitable organisation, is an annual celebration of the Wormholt and White City area, bringing together friends, neighbours, and its diverse community through fun activities and live performances. As a neighbour, CHP’s Parkview Centre for Health and Wellbeing sits behind the local park and is the main health and wellbeing hub for local residents.

Following the Covid-19 pandemic CHP is keen to ensure that the centre is once again a building at the heart of the local community it serves.

In support of the community event CHP worked in partnership with Fulcrum to host a health zone where tenants including Canbra Old Oak GP Surgery and West London NHS Trust provide blood pressure testing, healthy lifestyle advice and mental health support.  There were also community support organisations including Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank, Open Age and Age UK social related information to support services in the area which local residents can access if they were struggling from the cost of living challenge.

CHP’s operational teams were on site throughout the day to provide support and ensure the event ran smoothly.

Philippa Robinson, CHP’s Regional Director for London said:

“Partnership and community at a local place-based level are key priorities for CHP.  Working with our partners at Parkview, West London Health Partnerships, Fulcrum and tenants such as the GP practice, mental health services and local community groups, including H&F Foodbank, we were delighted to support this year’s W12 Festival. Thank to everyone for their wonderful efforts.  It was great to welcome residents to the centre and to see the local community come together at the event.

“Parkview Centre it is more than just a health facility, it is a place for the community.  Our community spaces enable various activities, such as art therapy sessions, coffee mornings for maternity and community champions and groups, such as a sewing club to run.  It is a valuable community facility to many local residents and we would like these community activities to grow.”

Andy Rowlands, Fulcrum General Manager said:

“At such an important time for community health, it is vital that we reach out to local residents to make them aware of the health, social care and community services available to help them through challenging times, so we were proud to support this year’s W12 festival and to showcase everything Parkview Centre has to offer.”
