Community Health Partnerships (CHP) aims to put its buildings at the heart of the local communities it serves, creating hubs that provide wider community benefits in addition to healthcare services.
This drive is supported by CHP’s recent ‘Buildings at the Heart of our Communities’ initiative, where our teams on the ground are helping to promote community space within CHP sites, to groups such as charities and local support groups where they can promote their services to the wider public, and raise awareness.
Throughout May, we are pleased to support Medway Council’s health campaign by hosting a number of events across CHP’s Medway sites to raise awareness for Measure Your Pressure Month.
Medway Council’s Public Health team, with support from CHP’s local Operations and Relationship Manager (ORM), will be on site across Medway, including Balmoral Healthy Living Centre, Rainham and Rochester Healthy Living Centres.
They will be offering health services such as on-the spot blood pressure checks, as well as being on hand to help provide information on leading a healthy lifestyle.
Simon Waters, Regional Director for South from CHP said:
“I’m thrilled we have been able to work together with Medway Council to support the Measure Your Pressure Month campaign across the Medway Healthy Living sites.
Health issues such as high blood pressure is something that many people might have but are unaware of. We hope patients and members of the public who visit for their medical appointments are also able to utilise the free pressure check service”
Claire McCartney, local Operations and Relationship Manager for CHP’s Medway sites also added:
“It’s been a pleasure to support and host the Public Health team at Medway Council in their health campaign across our CHP sites.
It’s been really great seeing so many patients taking up the offer of the free health pressure checks and hopefully it will help raise awareness and a healthier lifestyle.”
The health campaign will be running throughout the month of May and members of the public will be able to have their blood pressures checked across a number of venues in Medway.
