Duchess of Cornwall visits CHP health centre in Tottenham, London

On Wednesday 7th April HRH The Duchess of Cornwall visited communities across Haringey, one of which was the vaccination centre at the Lordship Lane Health Centre in Tottenham, where CHP is the head tenant.  Her Royal Highness was accompanied on her engagements by the Mayor of Haringey, Cllr Adam Jogee.

The visit was to mark the centre’s special milestone, the team have administered 50,000 vaccines to date; this brilliant achievement equates to one vaccine per minute when the centre is open.  The vaccination team at this busy centre are also working hard to combat vaccine hesitancy within the local community.

Her Royal Highness met with patients, staff and volunteers. The vaccination team come from all health care backgrounds and including medical students from across London.

The Duchess spoke with doctors to learn about the Covid-19 vaccine preparation and offered her assistance when she carefully shook a phial of vaccine mixed with saline solution several times supervised by Dr Russell Hearn.

I’ve visited quite a few vaccination centres and I never cease to be impressed at all the work everyone is doing. They are absolute stars, we couldn’t do it without them” (referring to the volunteers and vaccinations) HRH Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

Dr Russell Hearn, GP Partner at Morris House Group Practice, said: “We were delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cornwall to celebrate the milestone of 50,000 Covid vaccinations from Lordship Lane Primary Care Centre.  We’ve worked closely with our local communities to get as many people as possible the best protection from this dreadful virus, and it’s an honour to have the team’s hard work recognised.”
