Nafees Arif has joined Community Health Partnerships as Executive Director Investment Management.
He started at the beginning of May 2021 and takes responsibility for CHP’s Investment Management function and developing and delivering the LIFT (Local Improvement Finance Trust) Contract End of Term strategy.
Chief Executive Officer, Dr Sue O’Connell said: “I’m thrilled Nafees has joined CHP. He brings a wealth of skill and experience in public private partnerships and will be a real asset to the team.
“We have a busy year ahead as we continue to support the NHS with the Covid response, integration of care, closer to home, digital care delivery and ways of working, and net carbon zero. Our high-quality buildings and partnership working will be more important than ever. Nafees and this role will be vital in ensuring our partnerships continue to add real value and I look forward to working alongside him in the coming months.”

About Nafees Arif
Nafees has a broad range of experience spanning 25 years. After training as an accountant, he worked for several investment banks and other large corporate organisations.
He has held roles at CHP’s private sector partner Fulcrum, where he worked on NHS LIFT projects and a number of complex PFI projects involving demand risk, bond financing and the management of multiple funders and investors.
After leaving Fulcrum, Nafees joined the West Midland Combined Authority to work on the Midland Metro extension programme. During his time there, he covered many roles, including leading a team of finance, commercial and Project Management Office professionals, and delivering new finance and funding strategies.
He was also the Finance Director for the Midland Metro operating company and a member of the Transport for West Midlands Senior Leadership Team.

On the investment side, I will work closely with our private sector partners to deliver the full benefits of Public Private Partnerships to the NHS.”
