The £3.3 million project is a partnership between Community Health Partnerships (CHP) and NHS Coventry and Warwickshire. The GP team at Foleshill Surgery (part of Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance) opened to patients in August 2021. Foleshill Health Centre received Passivhaus Classic certification in October 2021 after a detailed scrutiny process. Energy usage monitoring shows a significant annual energy saving.

NHS England has unveiled the “Care for the future: delivering the world’s first net zero health service” photography exhibition at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum in Coventry. The photography exhibition features NHS staff who have pioneered greener healthcare initiatives for the benefit of their patients and the communities they serve. A GP at Foleshill Health Centre in Coventry, features in this exhibition representing both primary care, NHS Midlands region and sustainable NHS healthcare facilities.
Foleshill Health Centre, the UK’s first Passivhaus healthcare building, was Highly Commended for Value at the Constructing Excellence National Awards on 28 January 2022. In addition, the health centre was a National Finalist in the Offsite and Sustainability categories.

Foleshill Health Centre, the UK’s first Passivhaus healthcare building, won ‘Best Carbon Reduction Initiative’ at the Building Better Healthcare Awards. The judges were looking for projects helping to reduce carbon and energy use featuring energy-efficient heating, lighting, and other sustainable innovations, as well as green transport initiatives.
