The majority of CHP’s 308 buildings have clinical and non-clinical rooms which can be booked on a sessional basis – either on a regular basis, e.g. for a weekly clinic, or on an ad-hoc basis as one off bookings. Any NHS organisation, health provider, local charity or community organisation can make a booking, whether a current building tenant or not.
For most of CHP’s properties with bookable space, an on-line booking system called TAP (Tenant Access Portal) is used which enables users to logon and book rooms directly.

Following CHP’s successful pilot of the NHS Open Space room booking platform in 2024 in Stoke and Staffordshire ICB and South East London, the next phase of rollout has begun across additional Integrated Care Board (ICB) regions: Kent and Medway, Norfolk and Suffolk, Essex, and West and North London.
NHS Open Space provides a flexible, pay-as-you-go approach to managing space across the NHS estate. Health, wellbeing, and community services can book the space they need, when they need it—helping to improve patient access, reduce waiting times, and make better use of NHS resources.
