This guide explains how tenants can help support water safety, what to look out for and how CHP will maintain safe and compliant water systems during warmer weather.
Maintaining rarely used water outlets
To help maintain water quality, taps, showers and other water outlets that are not often used, may need to be run regularly to keep water moving through the system.
If you are aware of a tap, shower or other outlet that is rarely used, please let your CHP Operational Relationship Manager (ORM) know. This will help ensure it can be included in any required water safety checks and maintenance.
Grounds and gardens
Recently, water companies have introduced hosepipe restrictions and have asked customers to reduce non-essential water use to help protect local water supplies. Where these measures are in place, CHP’s Grounds and Gardens team are following the relevant requirements and guidance.
Tenants may see a reduction in watering activities, particularly in grassed and established planting areas.
This approach supports responsible water use while ensuring Garden teams continue to prioritise safety, maintenance and the long-term wellbeing of outdoor spaces.
