CHP North East team supports Seaham community through volunteering

Community Health Partnerships (CHP) North East Property and Operations team recently rolled up their sleeves for a community clean-up in Seaham, demonstrating the organisation’s commitment to volunteering, social value and supporting local communities.

Working across Red Acre Beach and Seaham town centre, the team of 15 collected 12 bags of litter in a single afternoon.

This year marked the team’s third clean up in Seaham, reflecting CHP’s continued commitment to environmental sustainability and giving back to the local community. The activity helped create a cleaner, safer coastline, protecting local wildlife and encourages community pride.

The volunteering activity also provided an opportunity for colleagues to work together in a different setting, strengthen team relationships and see the immediate impact of their efforts.

Volunteering is one of the ways CHP supports the communities we serve. Working together to help clean Seaham's beach and town centre was a rewarding experience and showed how a few hours can make a real difference. It was fantastic to be part of an activity that delivered an immediate and visible impact.

Community Health Partnerships commitment to volunteering

CHP encourages volunteering by giving colleagues two volunteering days each year. During 2025/26, CHP colleagues delivered 807 volunteering hours, involving 87 employees, representing 33% of the workforce. These activities generated an estimated £14,000 of social value through support for local communities, charities and environmental initiatives.

Volunteering is one of the most powerful ways we can connect with and support the communities we serve. Whether helping local charities, supporting vulnerable families or contributing to environmental projects, I am incredibly proud of the time and dedication our colleagues have given this year. Every volunteering hour represents our commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of local people.

By investing time and expertise into the communities it serves, CHP continues to demonstrate how collective action can make a meaningful difference to people, places and the environment.
